Ford Motor Company is a name synonymous with quality and automotive innovation. When Ford launched the Ford Explorer in 1991, the competition worked to imitate, but never truly caught up to nor surpassed the iconic Sports Utility Vehicle. Ford has continued to innovate where its SUVs are in today's line-up, which includes both traditional SUVs and crossover vehicles.
Speaking of crossover vehicles, Ford has produced a vehicle that is part sedan, part minivan, and part SUV. Particular models give drivers all the benefits of an SUV in a typically smaller body. Crossovers are great for small families and first-time car owners; in the Ford family, CUVs include the Ford EcoSport and the Ford Escape.
Both the EcoSport and the Escape seat up to five passengers. There are some CUVs offering a folding rear seat to increase cargo space. Plus, these CUVs do offer a small towing capacity in case one needs to tow a small load.
Next in the Ford inventory is the mid-size SUVs. Of course, the ever-popular Ford Explorer fits into this category. Like the CUV, the Explorer can fold down at least one row of seating for extra cargo, and most Explorers can tow as much as the Ford Ranger. The Ford Edge is the other mid-size SUV alongside the Explorer. These SUVs both seat up to seven comfortably offering plenty of room for a fun adventure around. And of course there is the new Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport as well.
One would be remiss without mentioning the full-size Ford SUV, the Ford Expedition. Sitting on a truck frame, the Expedition can seat up to nine comfortably and haul a great deal of cargo at the same time. Furthermore, the Expedition possesses a remarkable tow capacity for what many consider a family vehicle.
