New Ford F-150 Trucks For Sale in Elkhart, IN

Take a Look at a Different Kind of Truck

Trucks are always at the top of mind when you think of the Ford brand. The Ford F-150 has always been the truck that our drivers in Bristol want to do the job they have. The recent model year Ford F-150 has more to look at than years past.

For more than four decades, the Ford F-150 has been the top-selling model of its kind in U.S. automobile history. Credit is due to this light-duty entry appealing to a wide range of customers: from everyday commuters looking for a family-friendly vehicle with a truck bed to construction workers who need a hard-working work truck.

Powertrains and Exterior Features for Every Job

The Ford F-150 has the largest number of engines for you to choose from. These six engines that you get to decide on have the power that you will need to do your job or get you around. If you just want a truck to drive around Goshen in because you like the bigness of it, the base 3.3L V6 engine still has 290 horsepower of oomph without having too much for you to handle. The engines go all the way up to a V8 engine that gives off 400 horsepower if you will be doing a lot of heavy-duty towing and off-roading.

If you want or need a truck but are concerned about the environmental impact that it could have, Ford offers a hybrid system and will eventually offer a fully electric version. The hybrid powertrain has the highest horsepower and torque at 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. This makes the hybrid powertrain even more of an eye-catcher.

There is a lot that you can customize on the Ford F-150 because there are so many uses for it. This includes the size of the cab and the size of the bed. The cab comes in three different dimensions depending on whether you will have many passengers or not. The sizes include the regular, the SuperCab, and the SuperCrew cabs. If you haul a lot in the bed of the truck because of work you do around the house or if you want to have something to help your friends or family move in the Mishawaka area, the bed also comes in three lengths. These sizes include a 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, or 8-foot version. The truck can handle hauling up to 3,325 pounds of materials. The 14,000-pound maximum towing capacity on the Ford F-150 makes work easier.

Other exterior features include items that will bring more ease to your work. The LED bed lighting illuminates the bed so you can put away or tie down your cargo after the sun goes down. The tailgate also has a remote release for easier access before you get out of the truck. The available Pro Power Onboard will turn your truck into a generator with the choice between three household-style outlets in the bed. This way, you can still use your work tools or fun items for tailgating or a day at the park.

PowerBoost Hybrid Engine

The change garnering most of the headlines is the introduction of the 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid powertrain. Ford joins the popular twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, as well as an integrated 35-kW electric motor that draws power from a 1.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack to add 47 more horsepower to an already powerful engine.

The result is a powertrain with unmatched towing capacity in its class while avoiding the gas-guzzling habits of its peers. In addition, the motor charges the battery through regenerative braking, thereby promoting energy efficiency by drawing surplus power from the engine.

The PowerBoost joins five other powertrain options, which are already familiar to F-150 enthusiasts. All of them are hefty V6 and V8 engines that, just like the PowerBoost, have no problem hauling just about anything.

Pro Power System

The Ford F-150 can power up virtually anything-thanks to the all-new Pro Power Onboard system located on the bed's left side. The PowerBoost hybrid model exclusively has a 2.4-kW generator with the option of a more powerful 7.2-kW generator. (Other models, apart from turbodiesel ones, have 2.0-kW power outlets.) From elaborate construction job sites to electric dirt bikes, Pro Power Onboard will never leave you lacking any juice.

Plushy Interior for the Rugged Exterior

Inside the truck is much different than the exterior. The inside is less rugged and is more about your comfort. All of the upholstery can either be cloth or leather. Either style is easy to clean should you get sawdust or mud everywhere after a long day at work. During Granger winters, the heated steering wheel and seats, along with the dual-zone climate control system, make sure that you stay warm.

Fun Features During Work

If you are going to different work sites in your truck, or even just going to different hardware stores, you still need a little entertainment to break up the monotony of driving around. The computer display on the center of the dashboard has capabilities that provide a lot of entertainment features, including different ways to listen to your music. The technology features also provide a lot of safety features for your drives. The 360-Degree Camera with Split-View Display and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist lets you see exactly where your haul is in comparison to your hitch. The front touchscreen doubles are a camera viewfinder so that you can see the hitch behind you.

SYNC® 4

For the past few years now, Ford's vehicles have been equipped with the automaker's third-generation communications system, which is known as SYNC. Now, the fourth-gen iteration, appropriately named SYNC® 4, will make its appearance on the Ford F-150. SYNC® 4 will be anchored by an eight-inch touchscreen on the base XL and certain XLT models. If you get an upper-level model-or, at least, an XLT model with an option package-SYNC® 4 will be accompanied by a larger, 12-inch touchscreen.

Notably, the SYNC® 4 display screen is installed with a landscape orientation, rather than portrait orientation; and it can be split up to access various functions without going from one screen to the next. Supported by cloud-based updates, SYNC® 4 integrates components such as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, FordPass remote connectivity, and eight- and 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo systems.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the Ford F-150 is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary. Still, the pickup is cosmetically than ever before, with a slightly wider stance, 0.7 additional inches in length, and a front fascia that includes swivel-type headlights and "C-clamp"-shaped LED running lights. Also making an appearance are active grille shutters and front air dam for improved aerodynamics.

Safety Technology

More than ever before, the Ford F-150 is loaded with safety technology. The model now has hill start assist, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking as standard technologies in the Ford Co-Pilot360™ driver-assistance suite. Among the options are Intersection Assist for preventing crashes at intersections by monitoring the road ahead of you, as well as the next-generation Active Drive Assist (i.e., Active Park Assist 2.0) to help with getting in and out of tight parking spots.
