If you are planning for an exciting road trip this summer, you might want to take your car in to the mechanic first. The oil may need to be changed, the tires rotated, and the air pressure checked. The last thing you want is a blow out over old tires or something as simple as the air pressure. Checking all the fluid levels, brakes, battery, and lights can also be considered. Maintaining the safety of your vehicle will get you there safely.

An emergency kit with a flashlight, flares/reflectors, water, blankets, fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit should be kept in the trunk. A cooler filled with ice, sandwiches, drinks, and snacks are a handy way to keep everyone riding in the car satisfied. Entertainment, such as, music, books on tape, and road games can make the long hours spent in the car worthwhile. A long road trip is adventurous, but keep safety in mind.
